內容簡介The Japanese demand for SiC in the refractories, ceramics, grinding and polishing industries etc. is met by imports, especially from China. The amount of imports tends to increase gradually. The total amount was 77.3 thousand tons in 2003, of which 73.6 thousand tons was from China, and in 2004 it was 86.1 thousand tons of which 82.4 thousand tons was from China. (From the Trade statistics announced from the Ministry of Finance, Japan) The Chinese silicon carbide industry has been developing along with the development of the Chinese economy, and the amount of silicon carbide exported by Lian Yung Gang H & H International Trading Co., LTD., to which the author belongs, has reached about 10 thousands tons per year. This paper describes the present state of the silicon carbide industry in China, especially focusing on the remarkable development of high purity - high density silicon carbide in recent years.
