Improving their corrosion resistance and abrasion resistance to molten steel and slag requires further technical work. This report concerns our investigation of the reaction between a ZrO_2-C material and molten steel, the wetting of ZrC by molten steel, and the mechanism of consequent molten steel infiltration into the ZrO_2-C material.
