內容簡介The corrosion resistance and the life of castables were recently improved with the use of high-grade raw materials. In contrast, there is an increased tendency that the wear with cracking and peeling-off limits the lining life. It is considered that a major increase of durability can be expected with the suppression of cracking and peeling-off. There are some papers on improvement of the thermal spalling resistance of bricks by increasing the fracture energy through the addition of expansive raw materials ~(1-5)). In addition, there is a paper on making the structure of ceramics tougher by the formation of micro cracks due to the dispersion of grains ~6). There are similar research examples for castables ~(7-9)), but there few papers based on the fracture origin properties and microstructure. This paper describes the results of an investigation on the effects of adding various coarse grains with different thermal expansion coefficients on the improvement of the thermal spalling resistance of castables. After the thermal spalling resistance was evaluated, the fracture properties and the microstructure of the crack development were observed. In addition, the experimental reproduction of cracks by cyclic heating-cooling from one side was done. A study was made on the combination of coarse grains and matrix in which the suppression of cracking and peeling-off can be expected .
