內容簡介The perimeter of a kiln car is subject to wear and impact damage and must therefore be constructed from a sturdy material. Whilst the use of dense refractories provides the required resilience it also leads to excessive heat absorption and energy losses. Alternatively, the use of more thermally efficient ceramic fibres poses the problem of physical weakness and the release of fibrous dust into the kiln atmosphere which, from a ware contamination point of view, must be prevented. The use of the specially designed "n" block system provides the ideal solution by featuring a hard wearing external ceramic shell with a compressed infill of ceramic fibre.
